When talking about Century’s framework to clients, I often find myself translating her categories to make them easier to understand. Here’s how I have relabeled them:
Structural Procedural: What teachers DO
Structural Educative: What teachers KNOW
Instructional Pedagogical: How teachers BEHAVE and INTERACT with students
Instructional Student Engagement: How students ENGAGE
I’m open to ideas and see that there may be some issues with the first and third one – What teachers DO and How teachers BEHAVE and INTERACT can be pretty similar. How do you translate for ease of understanding?
